Tofu Meatball Soup

I learnt this when I was staying with my auntie from the Teochew origin. I like it because this is very simple and tasty.

After cooking for awhile, this is really a no-brainer and takes only 30min to prepare in total...!

All ingredients are easily available from the supermarket, easy for a busy mom like me =P


Total  Preparation Time : 30min ( excluding meat marinating earlier)

Feeds : family of 4
Total cost about $7 for this dish!


Steps & ingredients are as follows :
Minced Meat
> Usually comes in packs of 2
> take 1 pack ( 250gr) and defreeze

Fish Paste
> Scrape all of them

Mix Minced Meat & Fish Paste
> Place the Defreezed meat with Fish Paste
> Mix them well and apply the * basic seasoning of meat
> Store in fridge for a few hours before cooking them
( at least 2hours marinating time)
(Usually i would prepare them in the morning. Ok to place overnight when I've no time to prepare the next day)

1 pack of Tofu
> Cut to Cubes

Chilli Fish Ball
> Drain off water and rinse well

Boil water
> Take out the well mixed paste from the fridge
> Nip off in the shape of a ball with a fork and place them into the boiling water

> Place the cubed Tofu and chilli fishball into the pot
> Cook under high heat 

The meat  ball & fish ball will float to the top while the soup is bubbling hot.


** Optional :
Ikan Bilis Stock Cubes
> Add 1 cube to taste ( It's completely optional )

Parsley


> Chop the parsley and put them into the soup
> The soup tastes completely different after that !
